"Echoes of a Greek Winter Morning"
Reading time: approx. 1 min
Recently, on a beautiful morning, I took the time for the current winter colors here in Greece. Colors that I do not know like this from my old home. At least not from winter.
For a long time, winter colors for me were more white/gray/blue or a mixture thereof.
Since I have been living in Greece, I experience the seasons quite differently. Refreshingly different. And surprisingly colorful.
The lush green and the many small color accents, which are often a mixture of bold and earthy tones at the same time, are really good for my eyes. And not only for them. I notice how my whole system reacts to it. A kind of resonance or an echo results, which flows from nature through my body and gives me that same winterly calm.
For some time now, I have been dealing more intensively with the topic of the nervous system and brain retraining. Perhaps that is also a reason why it is becoming increasingly important to me in the mornings to do something for myself first, whether it is moving, listening to music, or going outside. Or picking up the brush without already switching into work mode.

So on this morning, I took my dog with me and walked a bit towards the olive grove. We sat down and I enjoyed my coffee, the birds chirping, and simply watched her. How she perceives her environment. How naturally she is in the moment.
And again, I became aware of how far ahead of us animals often are. While many of us humans first have to learn again to endure stillness, to accept it, and to consciously linger in the moment.
So on this morning, I took the time to capture the current colors of the nature of Greece. This small painting is part of a 10 x 10 cm series I am working on.
Abstract painting has especially appealed to me lately. I like letting things flow. I like creating nothing concrete. Defining no shape. Nature has so much to offer, and so I let myself be inspired by its beauty, its expression, and its echo.
My texts and images are a part of my journey that I like to share here. If you enjoyed this insight and would like to accompany me and my work a little further, I would be delighted to receive a small contribution for new colors or a coffee break. To do so, simply click the button below.
